I AM HYDRO GmbH is specialized in the investigation and monitoring of aquatic systems and the soil-plant-atmosphere system. We offer a wide range of services in the fields of hydrology, water hydraulics, eco-hydraulics, sedimentology, limnology, and meteorology. Our focus is on the measurement and data collection of system-relevant variables.

I AM HYDRO GmbH is equipped with state-of-the-art measuring equipment with which we collect data in the field. Sampling, single measurements, surveying, measurement campaigns are as much part of our service as the installation, maintenance and support of measuring stations and loggers. We are also happy to take on other data-related work, such as data review, correction, statistical processing, and post-processing.

Christian Haas obtained his university background at the University of Stuttgart in the field of environmental engineering. He has supervised and managed a variety of projects and investigations in Germany and abroad over the past years. He served as a consultant for the National Environmental Commission in Bhutan from 2015 to 2017. Christian Haas gives guest lectures and supervises student work at various universities as well as colleges in Germany and abroad. Since 2020, he has a teaching position at the Chair of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Quantity Management at the Institute of Water and Environmental Systems Modeling at the University of Stuttgart. Christian Haas has many years of experience in the field of technical fish monitoring and is the initiator of the international symposium on technical monitoring of fish. Furthermore, he is a member of the DWA working group 7.2 on the functional capability of fishways.

Philipp Thumser obtained his university background at the Technical University of Dresden in the field of hydrology and meteorology. He has accompanied and managed a variety of projects and investigations on more than 70 water bodies in Germany and abroad during the last 10 years. Among others, he worked for UNOPS and WFP in South Sudan, for UNDP in Bhutan and for GIZ in Thailand. Since 2020, he has also held a teaching position at the Chair of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Quantity Management at the Institute of Water and Environmental Systems Modeling at the University of Stuttgart.
