“Hydro4U is a project funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program aimed at promoting sustainable small-scale hydropower in Central Asia. Environmentally friendly hydropower solutions are being implemented in two demonstration sites in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. I AM HYDRO provided consulting services for determining ecological minimum flow requirements and fish protection. Additionally, terrestrial and aerial surveys were conducted to create digital elevation models for hydraulic and habitat modeling using total stations, GNSS systems, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Bathymetric surveys were carried out using total stations and GNSS systems, sediment grain size determination using UAS, flow velocity measurements, discharge measurements using hand-held ADV, and aerial habitat mapping.
